PRESS RELEASE: July 10, 2008.
LOCAL MASSAGE AND BODYWORK PRACTITIONERS LEND A HAND
St Thomas,
Owner and Nationally Certified Massage and Bodywork Practitioner, Brenda Armstrong, says this event provides the multi-faceted benefit of providing hands-on healing touch to people who might not otherwise seek it out, increasing the understanding of those who already have experienced some form of bodywork, raising awareness and support for a worthwhile local community organization, VI Resource Center for the Disabled (VIRCD).
Volunteer therapists will give mini sessions 10 am-4 pm, Saturday July 26 and recipients are asked to donate $10 or more. As an alternative or in addition, donations of supplies for VIRCD (paper towel, toilet paper, garbage bags, plastic storage containers, filing cabinets) will also be greatly appreciated.
These professionals join ABMP volunteers nationwide in an educational public service designed to promote the many benefits of therapeutic massage and bodywork.
The leap in growth of the use of massage in the last two decades is proof of its many health benefits, such as in treating persistent back pain, joint pain, strengthening the immune system, relieving health-damaging stress. Consumer research shows first-time massage therapy clients report very positive feelings about their experience.
A sign-up sheet for your mini massage appointment will be available on the day and the therapists can take care of more than one person at a time. These are fully clothed sessions while seated in a special chair or lying on a massage table. Do something really good for yourself while also doing something good for someone else.
Everybody deserves to be healthy and EveryBody Deserves a Massage.
